Travel has always been a passion of mine, and this job truly embodies the saying, "If you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life." For many years, while managing mortgages and raising kids, our vacations primarily involved road trips. My interests leaned towards volcanoes and rock formations, but as a native of Scotland, I’ve always preferred warm oceans to cold ones.
I began my journey with Expedia in October 2018, already having experienced 14 cruises. However, I quickly realized how little I knew about cruise ships, lines, or all-inclusive resorts, which opened up a whole new world of learning for me. Although the pandemic temporarily halted my plans, I used the time to delve into the intricacies of various cruise lines and destinations.
My cruising adventures began with a 4-day trip from Vancouver to Los Angeles, followed by a 7-day cruise, a back-to-back experience in the Caribbean, a 12-day Mediterranean voyage, and a remarkable 22-day Panama cruise. The pinnacle of my journey was a 33-day odyssey to Japan, China, and Korea, before crossing the ocean to Alaska and returning to Vancouver—one of the most stunning ports to depart from or arrive in.
This job allows me to engage with fascinating individuals, whether they are seasoned cruisers sharing their experiences or first-timers eager to embark on their journeys. I particularly cherish the calls I make to new cruisers once they return home, filled with joy and excitement, ready to plan their next adventure. The memories created during family cruises have been extraordinary, and I’ll always treasure the photos that help me relive those moments.
